Great job Rhema!
sometimes when i hear a great song on your radio station i just pick out some of the lyrics or the chorus & type them into a google search (along with the word 'lyrics') & about 9 times out of 10 i find it easy.
loving the new variety of songs.

Central Coast
Samaritan's Purse Australia is seeking a venue in the Central Coast region, that is able to act as a collection centre for our shoebox gifts this year.
if you have some rent free accomodation for approximately 10,000 gifts for children in poverty, available for the month of October, then please contact Craig Jennings, State manager NSW. I would love to come & discuss this opportunity to bless your community, face to face.
Phone 8825 1302 or mobile 0410 684 303.

Now is the time to organize gift filled shoeboxes for 2011. Each year Australia sends over 300,000 gifts to children in poverty through Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan's Purse Australia. These simple gifts of God's unconditional love are just the beginning, from there we run 73 other projects in the South east asia & south pacific region.Every gift represents a smile on the face of a child who has most likely never received a Birthday or Christmas present in their life.
Bless a child in need today! phone Craig jennings (NSW State Manager) on 1800 684 300 for more details.

Hi, I love the Rhema Radio. I find it really hard to listen to any secular music these days. Sometimes you announce the artist name & song title which is great because I haven't heard of some of the artists. But..every time I hear a song that I really like, the artist name & song title is never announced, rather annoying. I have rung the station a few times to try & get the name of the artist & song with some results. I rang this Tuesday past to try & find out about a song I heard..a female artist & the young man was very helpful & rang me back with a few names, one was Erana Clarke who sang a song called Warrior Spirit, but because I was unable to hear the song again I wasn't sure whether it was her or not. Is it possible for me to get the song list between the hour of 7.30am - 8.30pm as this may help if I'm able to go into a music shop & listen to the song in there. I would appreciate your help. Thank-you. Annie Lauree
Station Manager: Hi Annie. Sorry we can't back-announce every song we play. We can only do it when we have announcers "in the chair". We are always happy to try to track down a song you hear, and the more info you can give us the easier that is. I will email you the list of songs played in that hour. In the meantime, if you go to this link http://www.word.com.au/details.aspx?ProductID=534309 you can hear a snippit of Warrior Spirit. Thanks! Rick Broome, Station Manager

I love listening to Rhema, especially Family Life in the mornings. However, I was quite disturbed to hear Dr Gary Forbes claim his father's method of giving Gary, a well-deserved smack in the mouth as a child, was a righteous and biblical training method. (Yesterday afternoon in the Tips for Life section).
Response from Dr Gary Forbes:
"Tips for Life have been aired for more than 10 years locally, nationally and internationally by satellite to audiences of over 20 million listeners monthly.
One of the reasons it's been popular over such a long period of time is my desire and intent to keep them understandable and identifiable to listeners using where possible, personal examples.
In this TFL segment, I am not advocating corporal punishment or abuse of a child. I'm talking about Biblically-based discipline which may occassionally include appropriate physical punishment. Not angry parents out of control lashing out wildly.
I'm also a father of 3 married children and 9 grandchildren and understand the need for tempered and adequate discipline to match the circumstances.
When I gave a mouthful of cheek and unwholesome words to my mother at age 12, my father reacted with a quick purposeful discipline of smacking my mouth - not my face or head. He didn't hurt anything but my pride. And guess what: I never ever again spoke to my mother or any other woman that way ever again.
He shaped my life with an appropriate measure which was right for the time.
You can't always just use words and expanations to a child. You can't always reason with a child below a certain age.
Given all of that, we now live in a world where discipline is minimal and minor physical discipline almost doesn't exist.
And the result? Take a look around at today's kids. It speaks for itself.
My desire is to encourage parents to look at Biblical discipline and to stop pampering to reasoning which for the most part, doesn't always work.
As a counsellor myself, I also understand the psychology and principles of what you're saying and use these myself, but also without advocating a negation of other forms of discipline endorsed by Scripture.
We should never fear using what God has ordained for the betterment of our children.
I repeat again that my life has been shaped as a result of loving parents who were more concerned with their child than a politically correct approach adopted by so-called world authorities."

You had Brett Giffen and his band on the other day. All I can say is wow. Especially his lead guitarist! They performed two songs live in the studio: Hiding Place and Revival fires. I am definately going to get his new EP which is due out in the next few months on Fish Eat Dog records. I'll look for it on itunes. It's great to see that Rhema has great quality bands live in the studio. Please organize for a return visit. Thanks Rhema.
Webmaster: Hmmm. do I detect some self-serving going on here? Seriously though, nice work guys!
